The Institute of Buddhist Studies is a private institution, approved to operate in the State of California by the Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education, Department of Consumer Affairs.

As a prospective student, you are encouraged to review the Institute’s catalogue prior to signing an enrollment agreement. Note: because the common-MA and Certificate in Buddhist Chaplaincy are jointly administered by the Graduate Theological Union, accredited with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, reporting and assessment for these programs is managed by the GTU. For information on these programs, please consult the GTU website’s Educational Effectiveness page.
