Diane Winston

Diane Winston holds the Knight Chair in Media and Religion at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Her current research interests include religion, politics and the news media; American spirituality; and religion and the entertainment media. She has authored or co-edited Religion and Reality TV: Faith in Late Capitalism (Routledge, 2018); The Oxford Handbook on Religion and the American News Media (Oxford University Press, 2012); Small Screen, Big Picture: Television and Lived Religion (Baylor University Press, 2009); Faith in the Market: Religion and the Rise of Urban Commercial Culture (Rutgers University Press, 2002); and Red-Hot and Righteous: The Urban Religion of the Salvation Army (Harvard University Press, 1999).
