The governing body of the Institute of Buddhist Studies is its Board of Trustees which has as its primary duty of care to ensure prudent use of all institutional assets and oversee the work of the President. As per IBS’s bylaws, amended in 2026, the Board consists of eleven members, four of whom shall be BCA ministers, five lay-BCA members, and two at-large members.
