Degree Programs
The Institute of Buddhist Studies offers two graduate degree programs:
Master of Divinity (M.Div.)
Master of Arts in Buddhist Studies (M.A.B.S.)
Application deadlines for all two degree programs are:
March 1 for fall semester admission
November 1 for spring semester admission
Students are encouraged to apply by the deadline to receive consideration for some institutional grants.
Certificate Programs
The Institute of Buddhist Studies offers five certificate programs that include online and on-site options. Before applying for these certificates, please review our expectations for online learning.
Stackable Education
Through educational programs grounded in critical thinking and academic freedom, empowers students to become effective and engaged scholars, teachers, ministers, and chaplains.
Enrollment Options
There are many ways to start your education at the Institute of Buddhist Studies. Some students apply directly to a certificate or degree program; others begin by auditing a class or taking one for credit as a special student. And our stackable curriculum allows students to advance from a certificate to degree program seamlessly.
