Candidates should have relevant experience in college or university admissions, student services, or related areas. Experience in graduate programs is preferred, and knowledge of Buddhist studies, religious studies, or the humanities generally is ideal. The position requires attention to detail, strong organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with both staff and faculty. As Student Services and Enrollment Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full “lifecycle” of students, from initial inquiry through graduation. Key responsibilities will include: student recruitment (supporting ongoing marketing campaigns, hosting open house events); student onboarding and orientation; and student support services. This role serves as the primary point of contact for students within the admissions, enrollment, and registration processes with an emphasis on ensuring student issues are resolved thoroughly and with a student-focused approach.

As Student Services and Enrollment Coordinator, duties include responsibility for managing the Institute’s student information system (Populi), ensuring that student records are consistently updated and data appropriately shared with the Institute’s Director of Institutional Research.

Remote work options may be available; however, the candidate will be required to be in Berkeley periodically to support physical record management and to attend specific annual events (orientation, graduation). This is a full-time, hourly position reporting to the Dean. All full-time IBS employees are eligible for health insurance, participation in the Institute’s 401(k) plan, paid holidays, and other benefits.

Application materials — including a cover letter outlining experience relevant to the position, a CV or resume, and list of references — are due by May 7, 2026. Candidates should be prepared for Zoom interviews during the latter half of May. Prior to appointment, letters of reference and other materials may be requested. Application materials should be submitted via to jobs@shin-ibs.edu.

The anticipated annual salary for this position is $66,250 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
