Annual Memorial Service

The Institute of Buddhist Studies will hold its annual memorial (eitaikyo) service on Thursday, November 12, 2026. More details, including time and registration information will follow.

For over seventy-five years, generations of dedicated teachers, ministers, students, graduates, donors, supporters and friends have made our mission possible. Though we have grown and expanded our programs over the decades, our mission remains grounded in the vision of our founders – the propagation of the Buddhadharma and Jōdo Shinshū teachings in America. Indeed, it is through the collaborative efforts of this community that IBS has contributed to the growth of American Buddhism. Each year, we gather to remember these persons, to honor their contributions, and allow their spirit to guide us into the future.
