IBS at AAR Boston
This year’s annual meeting of the American Academy of Religion is taking place in Boston, MA, from November 21 to 25. And several members of the IBS faculty will be participating or giving presentations. If you’re planning to attend, here are some IBS-related events at the meeting.
- Dr. Courtney Bruntz has co-edited The Oxford Handbook of Lived Buddhism. We are hosting a book launch discussion and reception on Friday Nov 21, 5:00 pm.
- Dr. Nancy Lin is a co-organizer of a multi-year seminar titled Language, Poiesis, and Buddhist Experiments with the Possible. This year, the group is holding two sessions on Saturday Nov 22 at 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
- The GTU will be hosting its annual alumni reception on the evening of Saturday Nov 21 at 7:00 pm. President Mitchell will be in attendance and RSVPs are encouraged.
- Dr. Natalie Quli will be presenting and Dr. Thomas Calobrisi will be presiding a panel in honor of the thirtieth anniversary of the publication of the seminal Curators of the Buddha, edited by Donald Lopez, on Sunday Nov 23 at 12:30 pm.
- Dr. Bruntz will be presenting on a panel exploring religious labor on Monday Nov 24 at 9:00 am.
